Sunday 4th – 7pm – Tenement Jazz Band – Whighams Jazz Club – Some of the best young musicians on the jazz and blues scene got together earlier this year to form a new band to play traditional New Orleans Jazz!  It’s the raw energy and excitement of the early jazz recording that appeals, and digging into and reviving lesser heard songs

Tuesday 6th – 8.30pm – Blues Tuesday Jam Session with Melisa Kelly – Whighams Jazz Club

Sunday 11th – 7pm – Jim Mullen and Zoe Francis – Whighams Jazz Club – Jim is the doyen of British jazz guitarists for 5 decades he has played with everyone from the ground breaking jazz funk outfit Piblokto, Morrissey Mullen and the Average White Band to being a top ‘go to’ session player as well as working with a coterie of top class musicians around the globe.  Zoe is one of the UK’s best jazz vocalists and her tribute to the legendary Blossom Dearie is a total joy.

Tuesday 13th – 8.30pm – Jazz and Blues singers night hosted by Liz Dicks – Whighams Jazz Club

Sunday 18th – 7pm – Rose Room – Whighams Jazz Club – A perennial favourite at Whighams.  Rose Room make their annual return to play some exhilarating gypsy inspired ‘hot’ swing jazz.  Led by the brilliant Seonaid Aitken on vocals and fiddle Rose Room is a popular ‘draw’ so it’s advisable to book.

Tuesday 20th – 8.30pm – Blues Tuesday Jam Session with Gus Munro – Whighams Jazz Club

Sunday 25th – 7pm – Boptism – Whighams Jazz Club – Some of Scotlands jazz greats got together a few years ago to form Boptism, a nod in the direction of the early be-bop inspired jazz music which was the hallmark of Miles Davis, john Coltrane, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.  Led by tenor saxophonist Keith Edwards, the band also features Steve Moore on piano, Ed Kelly on double bass, Donald Corbett on trumpet/flugel and Aldo Morrow on drums.
