Sunday 5th NovemberWhighams Jazz Jam and Open Mic Night hosted by Clark Stewart

Clark is a regular performer on Cruise Ships and when not on the High Seas, can be found in theatres across the country performing his tribute to a host of stars such as Neil Diamond and Frank Sinatra. Tonight – he’s in charge of our famous jam with Campbell Normand (piano), Jimmy Taylor (d.bass) and Kevin Dorrian (drums)  for company.

 

Sunday 12th November – Haftor Medboe /Konrad Wiszniewski and Trio

As collaborations go, this is a cracker. Top guitarist Haftor Medboe and Scotland’s maestro of the Tenor Saxophonist, Konrad Wiszniewksi come together to play some scintillating jazz that will tingle and tantalise the senses, accompanied by their top-class trio. One not to be missed!

 

Sunday 19th November – Stewart Forbes’ Bebop Conservation Society

 

Alto saxophonist Stewart Forbes keeps the light shining on the jazz greats of the 40s and 50s – particularly Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. Stewart is a master craftsman of the Scottish Jazz Scene and has been a ‘go to’ sideman since the early 1970s. `Tonight, he steps out of the shadows with his great band  – Yati Durant (trumpet), Campbell Normand (piano), Ed Kelly (d.bass) and Jim Drummond (drums). It will be a cracker!

 

Sunday 26th November – Liz Dicks and her Quartet

 

A true Whighams legend and has been an intrinsic part our Jazz Club since we started back in 2009. She’s a font of knowledge about ‘early years jazz’ and has an uncanny knack of springing a musical surprise on her band – so let’s see what she has in store tonight for Dick Lee (clarinet), Campbell Normand (piano). Jimmy Taylor (d.bass) and Kevin Dorrian (drums)
